SDF – Louisville Airport Parking
Louisville International Airport (SDF) is one of the largest airports in Kentucky. Though it is a popular commercial airport, it is also known as a hub for UPS Cargo aircraft. The parcel delivery service recently built a huge base at the airport. The facility is currently capable of handling more than 300,000 packages per hour.
The airport serves more than 3 million passengers annually, with many arriving for special events like the Kentucky Derby. There is one terminal building and three runways, though much of the traffic that lands on the additional runways is non-commercial. All major carriers and/or their regional affiliates fly to the airport from their hub cities.
Though there is bus service provided by the Transit Authority of River City (TARC), most people arrive at SDF by car via I-264 and I-65.
SDF is a joint civil-military airport and was opened in 1947 as a commercial airport. The airport was formerly named Standiford Field. It is the busiest airport in Kentucky except for Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
