RDU – Raleigh Durham Airport Parking
Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU) is a very busy small airport in North Carolina. Nearly 9 million people come through the airport’s terminals each year. RDU is the airport of choice for travelers from the cities of Raleigh and Durham, from around Central North Carolina and from the several large universities in the Raleigh-Durham area.
The airport has two terminals with a total of 32 gates. Many of the flights are operated by low cost carriers (Southwest and, to a lesser extent, JetBlue). Major carriers and their regional affiliates fly to hub cities and destinations along the East Coast and in the South and Midwest.
RDU’s first terminal was built in the 1970s, the second in the 1980s. A new concourse is scheduled to open early in 2011, when the city hosts the 2011 NHL All Star Game. The Triangle Transit Authority is a regional bus service that goes to the airport regularly. Local bus services in the region act as feeders for the TTA.
