OKC – Oklahoma City Airport Parking

Oklahoma City’s Will Rodgers World Airport (OKC) is the busiest airport in Oklahoma in terms of commercial traffic.  It serves about 3.5 million passengers per year, though there has been a sharp decrease in the number of passengers over the past few years.  The airport began as a military training base.  Its original commercial terminal was built in the 1960s.  Major reconstruction took place in the 1990s and early 2000s.  The new terminal building has two concourses (East and West) and 17 gates.  Further expansions (aimed at attracting international service) were put on hold because of an industry-wide slump.

Major airlines fly from their hub cities to OKC.  Southwest also has a large presence at the airport.  Regional carries like SkyWest and GoJet also offer regular service.  Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Houston are popular destinations.

Public transit is not a viable option.  Buses (#11 of Metro Transit) only run 3 times per day.  Most people reach the airport by car on Highways 40 (west) and 44 (south).
