MDT – Harrisburg Airport Parking

Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) is a relatively busy small airport in Pennsylvania.

The airport does not serve as a hub for any airline, but is busier than many similar small city airports in the US.  The airport houses several US Airways and United connection services which fly to major US hubs like O’Hare, Dulles and La Guardia.  About 2 million passengers travel from the airport annually.

MDT is made up of 1 runway and  1 terminal. The airport can be accessed by car via I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike), I-83, and I-81.  The Capital Area Transit System’s Route #7 provides service to and from the airport weekdays between 6am and 8pm. Buses also run on Saturday.

After serving as an Air Force base, the airport began to serve commercial flights in 1969. The airport gets most of its traffic from air taxi services and private planes. Commercial flights only account for about 13% of all airport traffic.

The airport is known as a popular connecting destination for passengers who want to avoid the hassle of the larger Pennsylvania airports (especially Philadelphia).
