JAN – Jackson Airport Parking

Jackson-Evers International Airport (JAN) is located near the city of Jackson, Mississippi.  It is a joint military-commercial airport that was named after NAACP member Medgar Evers.  Though it received international flights in the past, JAN currently serves domestic flights only.  Southwest flies to the airport regularly, as does Delta and Delta’s regional affiliates.  American Eagle and US Airways Express also use the airport.  Jackson-Evers’ single terminal is small, but has 3-storeys, with gates located on the second floor.  The runways see 247 flights per day, but only a fraction of them (one-eighth) are commercial flights.  The airport offers free wireless internet and a handful of eateries and a gift shop. The parking garage has been recently renovated to include covered parking and greater capacity.

Jackson Evers was originally built in the 1960s.  Its traffic increased dramatically in 1997, when Southwest Airlines began service from 4 cities in the US.

This covered lot offers terminal-side parking for a rate of $13 per day.  Passengers simply walk to the terminal.

Leaving your car in this lot costs $8 per day.  Courtesy shuttles leave from the lot to the main terminal building every 15 minutes.
