GRR – Grand Rapids Airport Parking

Gerald R Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan is known under the FAA code GRR.  Grand Rapids is a focus city for Allegiant Airlines, which serves many of the more than 2.2 million passengers that come through the airport annually.  There are three runways and one commercial terminal building at the airport.

The airport is accessible by car via one of Michigan’s major highways, I- 96.  The Rapid Transit bus system offers service via Route #17.

GRR opened in the early 1960s, but flights have been taking off and landing in the area since the early 1920s. The airport has undergone several renovations and expansions since the ‘60s.  The most recent renovation updated the current terminal building, which was originally constructed in the 1960s when the airport first opened.

Flights from GRR are mostly of the connection/commuter variety.  They serve destinations like O’Hare, Detroit Wayne county, and Denver.
