DSM – Des Moines Airport Parking
Des Moines International Airport (DSM) serves about 2 million passengers per year, making it one of the busiest small airports in the Midwest. Delta Air Lines has the largest amount of flights out of DSM. United is also visible at DSM. It serves a little more than a quarter of the passengers that pass through the airport. Mesaba Airlines, operating under the Delta Connection service, has a large hub maintenance facility at the airport.
The airport offers connections to major airline hubs such as O’Hare, Detroit Wayne County, Minneapolis-St Paul, and Washington-Dulles. The airport is made up of 1 terminal and 2 concourses.
DSM is located off highways I-35 and I-80. Bus service is also available from Des Moines.
The airport was first built in the mid 1930s and has undergone several major renovations since. Currently the airport is undergoing a modernization project which will update its facilities. The airport serves as much general aviation traffic (private planes and cargo planes) as it does commercial flights.
