Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the most convenient airport serving Washington D.C. In 1998, it was named after President Reagan. Its original name was Washington National Airport. The largest airline at DCA is US Airways. Washington D.C. is an important focus city for the legacy carrier. Delta is another heavy user of the airport. Regan National was originally built by the federal government. It opened in June of 1941. The airport is located on the Virginia side of the Potomac River.
Currently, there are three terminals at the airport. There have been two runway expansions at DCA in recent years as the airport tries to keep up with fast-growing demand.
