COS – Colorado Springs Airport Parking

Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (COS) is a city-owned airport that is used for commercial flights and by military aircraft.  Peterson Air Force Base is a major military base located on airport grounds.  The airport’s commercial terminal is six miles from central Colorado Springs.  The airport was first founded in 1927, and received major renovations in the 1960s and 1990s.  COS was a hub for Western Pacific Airlines until the mid-1990s.  Its departure caused a decrease in passenger traffic (from a high of 5 million passengers).  Currently, about 2 million fliers come through the terminal every year.

Allegiant Air is the most visible major carrier, while Delta and American Airlines both fly from their respective hubs to COS.  Most of the commercial traffic comes from regional affiliates, with much of this type of affiliate service run by SkyWest Airlines.

The airport can be reached via Interstate 25.  It is also accessible via the city streets of Colorado Springs.
