CAK – Akron/Canton Airport Parking

Akron-Canton Regional Airport (CAK) is a less-crowded alternative to nearby Cleveland International Airport.  This is a small airport.  It sees only two million passengers each year.  Privately owned aircraft and other general aviation flights account for seventy percent of the traffic at Akron Canton.  Only about 30% of the planes that take off and land are commercial flights.  AirTran is the largest commercial operator at the airport.

CAK opened in the 1950s.  It is currently undergoing an airport improvement project, which includes expanding runways and gates, a new customs and border patrol facility and parking lot renovations.

This is a reasonably easy airport to get to.  Public transport is provided by the Akron Metro Regional Transit bus #110.  It runs between central areas of Akron and CAK 5 times daily.  The Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) bus #106 runs every hour.

Passengers who use this airport are AirTran fliers who are headed to Cleveland and visitors to the lakeside resorts of Akron and sites like the Pro Football Hall fo Fame in Canton.
