BNA – Nashville Airport Parking
Nashville International Airport (BNA) is an important airport in the Southern United States, especially for passengers going to and from Tennessee. It is a joint civil-military airport and houses Berry Field Air National Guard Base and the 118th Airlift Wing. This is a large airport. It has four runways. The airport’s FAA code comes from “Berry Field, Nashville,” which was the official name of the airport until it was change to Nashville International in 1988.
BNA serves about 11 million passengers annually and also welcomes airplanes carrying a yearly total of 80,000 tons of cargo. The main terminal can be reached by public transportation via the MTA bus #18.
The airport was originally opened in 1937 (as Berry Field). It was used in World War II by the United States Army Air Force Air Transport Command 20th Ferrying Group as a base for aircraft traveling around the world.
BNA was a hub for American Airlines until 1992, when the legacy carrier dismantled its Nashville operation. However, Southwest Airlines made up for the loss by making Nashville a focus city in the mid-1990s. Today, the low-cost-carrier accounts for 47% of BNA’s passenger market.
