BHM – Birmingham Airport Parking
Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is a major airport serving the city of Birmingham and people who live in Central Alabama. The airport is located 5 miles outside of the city center on the interchange between Interstates 20 and 59. The airport serves over 3.2 million passengers per year, making it Alabama’s busiest airport. Shuttlesworth currently has one terminal building with two concourses (B and C). There are a total of 19 gates. A major renovation is scheduled to begin in 2011. It will update existing concourses and add a new concourse and customs checkpoint for international flights.
Nearly half of all passengers who pass through BHM fly on Southwest Airlines. The carrier has service from 13 cities in the US. Delta and its affiliates offer frequent service to Atlanta, the most popular connection point for travelers starting from BMH. Most people reach the airport by car, though there are some shuttle services available.
